Booking terms and conditions

Paajoen vuokramökit applies the following terms and conditions when booking and cancelling accommodation services. The booking terms come into force immediately after the booking is made. The person making the booking must be of legal age.

Booking and payment

Paajoen vuokramökit sends the customer a confirmation of the booking by email, which includes the address of the key pick-up point and other information. The advance payment (25% of the accommodation portion) is due 7 days after the booking is made, and the remainder four weeks before the start of the booking. If, at the time of booking, there are less than six weeks until the start of the booking, the entire sum falls due to be paid at once. If the rental is cancelled after the booking payment has already been made, we will refund the sum if we manage to rent out the property again. Otherwise, the booking payment will not be refunded.

Cancellations

A cancellation must always be made in writing to the landlord’s email address. A cancellation is considered to have taken place at the moment we receive notice of the cancellation. Failure to pay the invoice is not a cancellation.

If the booking is cancelled because the customer or a close relative living in the same household falls seriously ill, has an accident or dies, the customer is entitled to a refund. The cancellation must be made without delay, and a medical certificate regarding the reason for the cancellation must be provided to Paajoen vuokramökit. If the cancellation takes place later than 48 hours before the start of the booking period or during the booking, the payment made by the customer will not be refunded.

Paajoen vuokramökit’s right to cancel a booking

The landlord has the right to cancel the booking if the payment has not been made by the due date.

If, before the start of the rental period, a water, fire or some other unexpected damage occurs at the rental cottage, the landlord has the right to cancel the booking. In that case, the customer is entitled to a refund of the rent they have paid.

Paajoen vuokramökit does not refund the rent if an unforeseeable event occurs (storms, natural phenomena, power outages, etc.) that the landlord cannot influence.

Liability issues and damages

Paajoenvuokramökit is not liable for any damage incurred by the customer that is caused by an unforeseeable reason, force majeure, which the landlord could not have prevented.

Tenants are themselves personally responsible (e.g. with their own home insurance) for any damage to movable or fixed property occurring at the property.

All remarks and complaints relating to the holiday property, or any damage occurring during the stay, must be reported to the owner preferably immediately but at the latest upon departure.

Staying in the holiday home

The holiday property is available to the customer from 3:00 PM on the arrival day until 12:00 noon on the departure day, unless otherwise agreed.

The customer is responsible for the final cleaning of the holiday home themselves, or purchases the final cleaning for €100. The ordered final cleaning does not include washing the dishes or a major clean. If the cleaning has not been carried out, the owner has the right to charge a cleaning fee. The holiday homes have more detailed cleaning instructions. If the holiday property is excessively messed up (e.g. vomit, spilled drinks, etc.), the renter is obliged to pay an additional charge.

Linens (sheets, pillowcases and towels) can be rented from the landlord for €15/person, or you can bring your own linens. The use of linens is mandatory. Pillows and blankets are included in the holiday homes’ equipment.

You may bring your own motorhome or caravan to the cottage yard. It is good to notify us of this in advance. We charge a pitch fee of €15/day.

Charging an electric car (full electric/hybrid) costs 30 cents/kWh. Please always notify us separately if you intend to charge your car during your visit.

Bringing a hot tub is allowed, but the water must not be taken from the holiday homes’ taps but from the lake. The firewood for the hot tub must also be brought along. Firewood is included in the normal use of the holiday home.

All of our holiday homes are smoke-free.

Bringing pets to the property must be reported when making the booking. Pets may not be brought to all holiday homes.

The maximum number of people for the holiday home must not be exceeded, unless otherwise agreed with the owner. For extra persons, we charge €20/person/day.
